We are proud to be an Ofsted Outstanding school. Here are some of the great things Ofsted had to say following their inspection in July 2017. We were awarded an Outstanding grade in all six categories.
The headteacher and team of leaders have transformed the culture and outlook of the school.
Safeguarding is highly effective.
Leaders and teachers have continued to improve the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, which has not only remained outstanding, but has gone from strength to strength. The quality of provision across all three sectors is consistently high.
Pupils make excellent progress during their stay at the school. They not only keep up with their studies, but are pushed to succeed and achieve even more.
Pupils have splendid opportunities to develop their knowledge of the outside world, through inspiring activities, cultural events and opportunities to contribute. Leaders and staff make the most of the wide range of experiences offered by Oxford and the wider area.
Students in the post-16 provision are extremely well-prepared for their next steps. Staff take all possible steps to enable students to overcome any barriers to their achievement, irrespective of the courses or pathways they are following.
The school’s provision for children in the early years is outstanding. Planning and transition work with parents are particular strengths.
The headteacher and leaders have successfully promoted their vision of ‘one Oxfordshire hospital school’, uniting the best practice and developing leaders across the whole provision. The school is in a superb position to share expertise and provide specialist guidance throughout the local authority.
The school is operating as one institution, with a sense of common purpose, clear direction and ambition. Leaders and those responsible for governance have gained the trust, respect and loyalty of all staff. And, most importantly, pupils are safe, making excellent progress and at the centre of every decision made.
